Enabled by Design-athon
Cerebral Palsy Alliance, in partnership with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), is holding Australia’s first Enabled by Design-athon at UTS on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July 2014. This two day ideas and prototyping fest aims to inspire Australia’s mainstream design and technology community to embrace universal design – ‘design for all’ – including people with a disability.
This exciting event brings together product designers, technologists, engineers, creatives, entrepreneurs, UTS students, people with a disability and disability professionals, in a fun and fast-paced challenge.
Participants will not only hear from industry practitioners and innovators, but join teams to design and prototype new products and technologies that are more accessible, attractive and easier for everyone to use. Each team will have a challenge based on a different type of disability, to gain first-hand experience of how great design can change lives.
The event is free of charge but places are limited.
This opportunity is available to IPD/ID students as either a 6cp winter elective in which case you will need to enrol into subject 84000 (July), or you could simply participate because it's going to be one of those great projects you'd hate to miss out on.
